Overview

A solution for every age group

When tooth size doesn't match jaw size, teeth end up crowded or spaced out. Orthodontic treatment corrects these dental and skeletal irregularities to restore proper alignment.

Malocclusion (bad bite) is more than an aesthetic concern — it can cause decay, gum disease and jaw-joint pain. Early intervention usually means simpler, shorter treatment down the line.

Six treatment methods

From invisible to fastest results — an option for every goal and budget.

Less visible

Ceramic (tooth-coloured) braces

Tooth-coloured ceramic brackets are the aesthetic alternative to metal. Slightly slower than metal, but they blend in with the teeth.

Age 13+ 14-24 months Barely visible
Classic

Metal braces

Reliable, efficient and the most affordable option. The fastest mover in complex cases. Colourful ligatures for a personal touch.

Age 12+ 12-20 months Best value
Hidden

Lingual braces

Brackets bonded to the inside of the teeth. Completely invisible from the outside — ideal for performers, lawyers, teachers.

Adult 18-24 months Fully invisible
Children

Paediatric orthodontics

Growth-guiding appliances (expanders, headgear) shape the developing skeleton early. Often shortens or eliminates later treatment.

Age 7-12 6-18 months Growth guidance
Complex

Orthognathic surgery

For severe jaw-skeletal mismatches, orthodontics is combined with surgery. The upper and lower jaw positions are repositioned.

Age 18+ 18-30 months Team approach
Age groups

The right time for every age

Early intervention means shorter treatment; starting later means discreet options that don't affect daily life.

Ages 7-12

Early intervention

With mixed dentition (baby and adult teeth) jaw growth can still be guided. Habits like thumb sucking or tongue thrusting are corrected before the skeleton sets. Often removes the need for braces later.

Ages 12-18

Classic orthodontic window

All permanent teeth are through, the jaw is still flexible. Treatment is fastest and most efficient. Metal or ceramic braces, or teen-modified aligners are popular.

Adults 18+

Discretion-first

With jaw growth complete, skeletal cases may need surgical support. For pure tooth alignment: clear aligners, ceramic or lingual braces deliver results without showing.

Treatment journey

The 5-step journey

A planned, predictable and comfortable treatment path.

01

Exam & 3D scan

Clinical exam, panoramic film and digital intra-oral scan fully document your starting point.

02

Digital planning

Tooth movements are simulated on-screen. You see your final smile in 3D before we begin.

03

Treatment start

First aligner/braces fitted — a 45-60 minute visit. Adaptation takes 5-7 days.

04

Follow-up visits

Every 4-6 weeks, a 15-30 minute adjustment. Progress is photographed each time.

05

Retention

A thin clear retainer locks the new alignment. Full-time for the first year, then a few nights a week.

Daily life

Daily life & care

Orthodontic treatment doesn't put life on hold — but a few routines keep results on track.

Brushing

Three times daily with an orthodontic brush. Each bracket face cleaned separately. Two minutes minimum.

Interdental

Interdental brushes and a water flosser between brackets. Massively reduces cavity risk.

Foods to avoid

Hard and sticky foods (nuts, caramel, gum) can snap brackets. Keep acidic drinks limited.

Aligner wear

Aligners come out only for meals and brushing. 22+ hours a day is non-negotiable — less and treatment drags on.

Appointments

Missing a check-up stretches the timeline. Keep the schedule so adjustments happen on time.

When to call

For broken brackets or a poking wire — call us the same day. Small issues stay small.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The most common questions about orthodontic treatment.

Possibly. Teeth that appear straight from the front may not meet their counterparts correctly (bite / occlusion). Untreated malocclusion causes wear, TMJ pain and headaches over time. A free consultation gives the honest answer.

No. Clear aligners (Invisalign and similar), ceramic brackets, and lingual (behind-the-teeth) braces are all widely available. Most adults today choose clear aligners — no one needs to know you're in treatment.

Near-invisible custom plastic trays made from your digital scan. You swap to a new aligner every 2 weeks — each moves your teeth a small amount. Removed for eating and brushing; worn 22+ hours a day.

Crooked teeth create hard-to-clean gaps where plaque and bacteria thrive, raising cavity and gum-disease risk. Incorrect bite wears teeth unevenly and may cause jaw-joint problems long-term. Orthodontics protects health, not just looks.

All cavities are filled, root-canal work completed, and a professional cleaning performed. We don't start orthodontics on unhealthy gums. Every 6 months during treatment you need another cleaning.

Three brushings a day with an orthodontic brush, interdental brushes + water flosser between brackets, and mouthwash as needed. Aligner users remove the tray to brush normally and clean the aligner separately. We walk you through it on day one.

Yes. A loose bracket can't apply force, so that tooth stops moving. Call us as soon as possible to have it rebonded — every lost day lengthens the overall timeline.

First, the habit must stop — ideally before age 6. If so, teeth often return to place on their own. If not, early orthodontics around ages 11-12 finishes the correction.

Yes, in most cases. A 3D CBCT scan locates the exact position. A minor surgical exposure and orthodontic traction bring the tooth into alignment — a specialised 12-24 month treatment.
